"Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus." —2 Timothy 2:3/NASB
It is chiefly because of Holy Week, that everything Christ endured for my sake, I simply do not decide what part of being a follower of Jesus Christ is hard. He who was without sin suffered, bled and died for me (and you). And that's not all he endured! The journey is tedious but I know his was far more tedious and much harder than anything I may endure. I know I have given up death for life. What price can I pay for what I have gained? Something I must do or not do that I find "hard?" I rejoice for being part of God's divine plan! Glory Hallelujah!
We cannot try to relate to God from a sensual perspective — only in Spirit and truth. In the Spirit of Christ, through his divinity and not our humanity, we can do all things through him who strengthens us to do them. Okay, hard if I were to concede but doable through his strength. Hard is not an issue, being transformed by the renewing of our minds thus becomes the issue. Christ died that I might have everlasting life in paradise and not torment. Hard? Focus on the doing and not the difficulty in doing. We must not be carnal-minded but spirit-minded on this Christ-like journey. God will reward us for everything we endure for Christ's sake. His reward system is out of this world, literally!
